Why Photo20KB is Different from Other Tools
Most photo compression websites work like this: you upload your photo → their server processes it → you download the result. Your photo travels through the internet and sits on someone else's computer.
Photo20KB works completely differently:
- 100% Browser-Based: All compression happens right in your web browser using JavaScript
- No Upload Required: Your photo never leaves your device — not even for a millisecond
- No Server Processing: We don't have servers that handle photos (just servers for the website itself)
- Nothing Stored: When you close the tab, everything is gone from memory
This makes Photo20KB ideal for passport photos, Aadhaar documents, and government forms. Your sensitive identity documents never leave your control.
What We DON'T Collect (The Good Stuff)
Let's be crystal clear about what we cannot access, see, or store:
- Your Photos: We literally cannot see them — they're processed on your device only
- File Names: We don't know what you named your files
- Photo Metadata: EXIF data, GPS coordinates, camera info — none of it
- Personal Information: No name, email, phone, or address collection
- Account Data: We don't have accounts — nothing to hack or leak
- Payment Information: The tool is 100% free — no payments involved
- Biometric Data: Facial features in passport photos stay on your device

This is proof that we're not secretly uploading your photos. Anyone can verify this.
What We DO Collect (Being Honest)
We believe in complete transparency. Here's what we do collect:
3.1 Website Analytics (Google Analytics)
Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site. This helps us improve the tool. Here's what it collects:
- Page Views: Which pages you visit (home, FAQ, etc.)
- Device Type: Mobile, tablet, or desktop (not your specific device)
- Browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
- Country/City: General location (not your exact address)
- Referral Source: How you found us (Google, direct, etc.)
- Session Duration: How long you spent on the site
We can see "500 people from Delhi used Chrome on mobile today" — but we can't see "Rahul from 123 MG Road compressed his passport photo." It's all anonymous and aggregated.
3.2 Server Logs (Standard Hosting)
Our web hosting provider automatically logs:
- IP addresses (for security and abuse prevention)
- Access timestamps
- Pages requested
These logs are automatically deleted after 30 days and don't contain your photos.
How We Keep Your Photos Private
Photo20KB is different from other compression tools. All processing happens directly in your web browser using JavaScript — your photos are never uploaded to any server. When you close the browser tab, all data is automatically cleared from memory.
Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12) → Network tab → Compress a photo → You'll see zero uploads. Everything happens locally on your device.
Cookies Explained Simply
We use a minimal number of cookies:
Advertising Cookies: Google AdSense may use cookies to show relevant ads to users, as per Google’s advertising policies. Users can control or opt out of personalized advertising through their Google Ad Settings.
- Google Analytics Cookies: Track anonymous usage (can be blocked)
- Language Preference: Remember if you chose English or Hindi
We do NOT use:
- Our own advertising cookies or tracking pixels
- Any third-party tracking tools except Google AdSense (if ads are shown)
- Cookies that identify you personally
You can block all cookies in your browser settings. Our compression tool will still work perfectly — it doesn't need any cookies to function.
Your Privacy Rights
Under Indian law (IT Act 2000) and GDPR (if you're in Europe), you have these rights:
- Right to Know: Ask us what data we have about you (answer: none for photos)
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of any stored data

- GDPR (for EU visitors): IP anonymization is enabled in Google Analytics
