Upload Your Signature Image

Supports JPG, PNG, WebP (Max 25MB) — PNG signatures work perfectly

Drag & drop or paste (Ctrl+V) your signature image

📌 Government Portals Requirement: SSC, UPSC, Railway Recruitment Board, IBPS, SBI, and most state government job portals require signature images between 10KB–20KB in JPEG format. Our tool hits this exact target every time.

The single most common reason for government form rejection is not the photo — it's the signature. Most candidates scan their signature on a full A4 page, and the resulting file is 200–500KB with white space around it. The portal then rejects it for being over 20KB. The fix is to crop tightly around your signature before compressing. Sign on white paper with black or blue ink, photograph it in good light (or scan), crop to just the signature with a small white border, then compress here to 20KB. PNG signatures auto-convert to JPEG. The slider goes down to 10KB for portals like SSC that have a strict lower ceiling.

Why Your Signature Gets Rejected — and How to Fix It

If you've been through the SSC or IBPS application process more than once, you've probably hit this: form resubmitted, everything looks fine, and then the portal throws a "signature invalid" error. It's one of the most common reasons for form rejection in India — and it almost always comes down to one of three problems.

1. The file is too large because the scan includes too much white space

Most people sign on a full A4 sheet and scan the whole page. The resulting file is 200KB to 500KB — ten times the limit. The fix is simple: crop the image tightly around just the signature before you upload it here. Leave only a small white border. This alone drops the file size by 70–80% before any compression even happens.

2. The file is PNG when the portal needs JPEG

Some phones save scanned documents as PNG by default. PNG files look the same as JPEG on screen but are rejected by SSC, UPSC, and railway portals even if you rename the file to .jpg. This tool auto-converts any PNG signature to true JPEG during compression — you don't need to do anything separately.

3. The signature orientation is wrong for banking portals

IBPS and SBI portals require signatures in landscape orientation — specifically 800×300 pixels (width must be at least 2.5 times the height). If you upload a signature that is taller than it is wide, the portal auto-rejects it. Sign on a wide piece of paper, or crop your signature image to landscape orientation before uploading here.

📋 Signature Requirements by Exam

  • SSC CGL/CHSL/MTS: JPEG, 10KB–20KB, 140×60 px minimum, black ink
  • UPSC Civil Services / NDA: JPEG, 20KB–200KB, 3 signatures stacked in one file
  • IBPS PO / Clerk / SO: JPEG, 10KB–20KB, 800×300 px landscape (8:3 ratio)
  • SBI PO / Clerk: JPEG, 10KB–20KB, 800×300 px landscape
  • RRB NTPC: JPEG, 10KB–40KB, any orientation
  • Railway Group D: JPEG, 30KB–40KB minimum — different from NTPC
  • India Post GDS: JPEG, 5:2 landscape ratio (250×100 or 500×200 px)

Frequently Asked Questions — Signature to 20KB

How to compress signature to 20KB for SSC CGL / CHSL form?

Upload your scanned or photographed signature. The slider is already set to 20KB — the SSC requirement for CGL, CHSL, MTS, and GD portals. Click "Compress Signature" and download your 20KB JPG. SSC strictly rejects files below 10KB or above 20KB, so our tool targets the 18–20KB sweet spot.

What is the signature size for UPSC IAS / Civil Services 2025–26?

UPSC requires a JPG signature between 20KB–200KB. The file must be named "signature.jpg" and dimensions should be 350–500 pixels. UPSC also requires three identical signatures in a vertical column (triple signature). Use the slider to target 50–100KB for best UPSC compatibility.

My signature is a PNG file — will this tool convert it to JPG?

Yes. Upload your PNG signature and the tool automatically converts it to JPG while compressing to 20KB. Almost all government portals (SSC, UPSC, IBPS, RRB) only accept JPG/JPEG — PNG is rejected. Our tool handles this conversion in one step.

How to fix "signature must be 5:2 aspect ratio" error for India Post GDS?

The India Post GDS portal requires a 5:2 landscape ratio (width must be 2.5× the height). Crop your signature image to a wide horizontal rectangle before uploading here — for example, 250×100 pixels. Then compress to 20–50KB using our tool and upload as JPG.

What size signature for RRB Railway Group D / NTPC / ALP?

RRB Railway portals require signature JPG between 10KB–40KB. For RRB Group D and ALP, the portal enforces a minimum of 30KB — if your file is too small it gets rejected. Use the slider to target 30–35KB for safe Railway uploads.

Can I get 10KB for stricter portals?

Yes. Move the slider to 10KB (minimum on this page). Some portals like SSC and NTA have a strict 10KB lower limit. Our tool achieves 9–10KB while keeping the signature legible using high-contrast compression.
